Bronx Businesses and Anchor Institutions Connect

  • October 14, 2021

On Tuesday, October 5th, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) played host to the first in-person event for the Ascend Bronx Anchor Council, bringing together Bronx-based anchor institutions, outstanding minority-owned local businesses that recently completed the Ascend NYC management training, and our partners in the Ascend NYC initiative, to build relationships and strengthen collaboration towards equitable economic development.

Ascend NYC is a partnership effort between Bronx Cooperative Development Initiative, Business Outreach Center Network, BOC Capital Corp. CDFI, and the City University of New York Bronx Community College.

Ascend NYC is currently recruiting for our next business cohort. To apply, fill out the inquiry form.

John Calvelli, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for WCS and Co-Chair of The Bronx Anchor Council, extended a warm welcome to the audience at The Bronx Zoo
